FAQ

How does self check-in work?

You will receive a code before arrival that gives you access to a key safe. With this key, you can enter the apartment. Detailed instructions will be sent by email shortly before arrival.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is available from 2:00 PM and check-out is before 11:00 AM.

Is parking available?

Westende is a quiet coastal area where you can usually find parking easily, even in summer, if you look around a little.

  1. Parking Badenlaan: daily rate €9 + 15-minute walk to the apartment. More information on the website of Municipality of Middelkerke.
  2. The area around the studio is a green parking zone, where paid parking applies from 9:00 AM–7:00 PM during weekends, school holidays, and public holidays (€9/day). During weekdays, parking is free. More information and zone maps are available on the website of Municipality of Middelkerke. Easy payment via the 4411 app.

Can I use public transport?

The Kusttram stops around the corner from the studio at the halt 'Westende Bad', and connects Westende with other coastal towns such as Middelkerke, Nieuwpoort and Ostend (where you can take the train with easy connections to cities such as Ghent, Brussels and Bruges).

Are there bicycle facilities?

The bicycle storage area is accessible from outside the building. Guests may store their bicycles there at their own risk. We are not responsible for theft. During busy periods, such as summer, we cannot guarantee that a space will always be available. It is not possible to reserve a spot in advance.

Is early check-in or late check-out possible?

Unfortunately, early check-in or late check-out is not possible, as we need enough time between stays to thoroughly clean and prepare everything for the next guests.

How far is the beach?

The studio is located directly on the promenade, so literally on the beach. Perfect for walking straight onto the sand or enjoying the sun. If you prefer not to sit on the beach but still want the view, the terrace is ideal.

Are there shops and restaurants nearby?

Yes, there is a Delhaize within walking distance. For larger supermarkets such as Lidl, Aldi, Colruyt and Jumbo, you need to drive about 15 minutes. There are also nice restaurants and the typical seaside shops on the promenade. A real recommendation, just around the corner from the studio, is BONK, where you can enjoy delicious fish dishes.

Do I need to bring cleaning supplies?

For daily use during your stay, you do not need to bring cleaning supplies. We provide basic cleaning products such as a vacuum cleaner, mop and detergent.

Are pets allowed?

No, our holiday apartment is pet-free. Although we love animals, they are unfortunately not allowed to avoid disturbance for the neighbours. Do you have an assistance dog? Please send us a message.

Is smoking allowed?

No, smoking is not allowed. Smoking is only permitted outside on the terrace. We kindly ask you to respect our smoke-free policy.

Is free Wi-Fi available?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available. You will receive the access code upon arrival.

Do I need to pay extra for water and electricity?

No, water and electricity are included in the price.

Is there a fully equipped kitchen?

Yes, there is a fully equipped kitchen with plates and cutlery for 6 people. Coffee beans, olive oil and basic herbs/spices are provided. The studio apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a combi microwave/grill, induction hob, kettle, toaster, air fryer, dishwasher, espresso machine and a fridge with a small freezer compartment. There is also an electric BBQ that can be used on the terrace in summer.

Do I need to bring a kitchen towel and dish soap?

We provide a kitchen towel, dish soap and dishwasher tablets, so you do not need to bring these yourself.

Do I need to bring toilet paper and shampoo/conditioner?

Toilet paper is provided upon arrival, but for a longer stay it may be useful to bring extra. Shampoo and conditioner are also provided.

Are bed linen and towels provided?

The accommodation includes pillows, blankets, mattress protectors, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels. A kitchen towel is also provided. We also provide each guest with a beach towel to take to the beach.

Are there laundry facilities?

There is no washing machine or dryer, but there is a laundrette only a 5-minute walk away in Westende-Bad.

Is there air conditioning in the studio?

No, the studio does not have air conditioning, but it does have heating for a comfortable stay in cooler weather. The accommodation is equipped with ceiling fans for summer.

Is the studio safe?

Yes, the accommodation is equipped with smoke detectors and a first aid kit. The tenant is fully responsible for supervising children, animals and all other persons on the terrace. Use of the terrace and balustrade is at the tenant’s own risk. It is strictly forbidden to climb on or over the balustrade or use it as a play element. As extra protection, an additional child safety measure is provided.

Is the studio suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome. The sofa in the living area can be converted into 2 single beds for children. Some beach toys are also available. Please note that a baby cot and high chair are not provided.

How can I make a reservation?

Reservations can easily be made online via our website or Airbnb. Telephone reservations are not possible.

Which payment methods are accepted?

We accept payment by credit card (preferred) or bank transfer.

What are the rates for a stay?

Our rates are dynamically adjusted through demand-based pricing. Prices may vary depending on seasonality, local demand and availability, to ensure fair and competitive rates. Use the booking tool to check the exact price for your desired period.

Is the price inclusive of tourist tax?

Yes, the price shown in the booking tool includes the applicable tourist tax.

What is the security deposit and how does it work?

The security deposit is €250 and must be paid at least 3 days before the check-in date. This amount is blocked on your credit card, but nothing is charged to your card. The deposit serves as security and will be released within 3 days after check-out, provided no deductions are needed due to:
Damage to the apartment or furniture
Dirt or mess requiring extra cleaning
Other costs incurred by the owner as a result of the guest’s stay
Late check-out (€100)

If the apartment appears dirty or damaged upon arrival, the guest must inform the owner immediately.

What if something breaks during my stay?

Please contact us immediately. We will work together to find a solution.

What is the minimum stay?

During the summer months, the studio can only be rented from Saturday to Saturday, or for multiple consecutive weeks. During long weekends, rental is only possible for the full weekend. Outside these periods, the accommodation can be rented for a minimum stay of 2 nights. Use the booking tool to check availability.

What are the payment terms?

The full amount must be paid at the time of booking.

Can I cancel my stay?

100% of prepaid amounts will be refunded if cancelled 14 days before arrival or earlier.

Can I extend my stay?

If the studio is available, you can extend your stay. Please contact us to arrange this.

Can I change my reservation?

We always try to accommodate changes, subject to availability. Please contact us at least 14 days before arrival.

What should I do if I forget something in the studio?

Please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to return lost items.
